Species Status
WildGems are the core value system of Wild TCG, representing a card’s rarity, ecological significance, and real-world conservation status.
They define a card’s overall value and importance within gameplay.
Species range from Least Concern to Extinct in the Wild, with each badge reflecting its conservation status using the IUCN Red List color palette. These categories directly influence WildGems, as more threatened species typically hold higher value and greater impact within gameplay.
Population Trends
Population trends are shown using directional arrows: a red left arrow indicates a decreasing population and adds +1 WildGem, while a green right arrow indicates a growing population with no additional WildGems. No arrow represents a stable population, also with no bonus WildGems.
Species Impact Badges
Species Impact Badges” represent each animal’s ecological role and significance within or beyond its ecosystem. Displayed as a stamp in the bottom-right corner of the card frame, these badges affect WildGem value—Apex predators and Keystone species grant bonus WildGems, while Invasive species act as strategic cards used to disrupt an opponent’s ecosystem.
Earned WildGems (Example Cards)
Wildgems are determined by an algorithm that evaluates conservation status, population trends, ecological importance, and rarity—giving each card both collectible value and educational insight.
Below are two examples of how WildGems are earned and calculated.
Blue Wildgems
See a species with blue Wildgems?
It means its conservation status hasn’t been fully studied, therefore it is an educated guess
